What Effi stores, and where
Effi keeps your vehicles, charges, journeys, recorded drives and the costs it works out from them in a database on your iPhone. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to. Your records are readable by the app on that device and by nothing else.
What we receive
Nothing. Effi contains no analytics, no crash-reporting service, no advertising, no tracking and no advertising identifier. We run no backend for it. We cannot see how many charges you log, what you pay per kWh, where you drive, or whether you open the app at all.
Apple services the app relies on
Effi is built on Apple frameworks, and three of them involve Apple rather than us:
- Maps. When you view a route, search for a place or record a drive, Apple's Maps service receives the search text and the coordinates needed to return results and map tiles. That exchange is between you and Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy; we neither see nor keep it.
- Support subscriptions. If you choose to support Effi, Apple processes the payment. We never see your card, billing address or Apple Account. The app stores only whether a subscription is currently active, on your device.
- Device backups. If you use iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup, your iPhone backup includes Effi's data along with your other apps. Those backups are held by Apple or on your own computer under Apple's terms, not ours. Effi itself does not sync to iCloud.
Permissions, and what each one is for
- Location. To centre the map where you are and to follow the car while you record a drive — which is why it keeps working with the screen off. The route is written to your device.
- Motion & Fitness. To read the barometer while recording, so a drive carries the real altitude of the road.
- Photos (add only). To save a share card to your library when you ask for it. Effi cannot read the photos you already have.
- Notifications. Weekly and monthly recaps are assembled on your device and scheduled locally. There is no push server, so nothing leaves the phone to produce them.
Every one of these is optional. Decline any of them and the rest of the app still works.
Sharing is yours to start
A share card is only created when you tap share, and it goes wherever you send it through the system share sheet. Effi never posts or transmits anything on its own.
Deleting your data
Delete individual charges and drives inside the app, or delete Effi to remove everything it holds. Because we never receive your data, we have nothing to delete on our side — and nothing to hand over if someone asks us for it. If your data is in a device backup, removing it there follows Apple's backup process.
Your rights
Rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA and Turkey's KVKK — access, correction, deletion, portability, objection — apply to personal data a company holds about you. For Effi we hold none, so there is no file to send you and nothing to correct. We do not sell or share personal data, and we do not profile you. If you want to check any of this, write to privacy@tuzbuzz.com and we'll answer within 30 days.
Children
Effi is a tool for running a car and isn't directed at children under 13. Since it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Changes and contact
